In order to ensure monitoring of Local Govt Accounts and to provide them required banking facilities, BOP has introduced a BOP PLS LG Account only for Local Government under Government of Punjab. All Local Government bodies as per Punjab Local Government Act, 2019 will be eligible to open this account including Metropolitan Corporation, Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committees, Town Committees, Tehsil Councils and Village Punchayats & Neighborhood Councils.

• Profit calculation on monthly average deposit at minimum saving rate
• Profit payment on half yearly basis
• All facilities and free features allowed to Governments accounts as per prevalent Schedule of Charges will apply.
• Restriction on Cash payment/withdrawal per transaction from accounts as per limit to be notified under Punjab Local Govt. Accounts Rules 2019. The limit will be communicated in the light of instructions received.
• However in the meantime no cash payment/withdrawal from LG Accounts is to be made till limit amount is received.
